JARring is missing for a bit

JAR has flown off to Europe. Its another business trip. Whenever he is away from home base, I get a little restless cos it means we cant just pick up the phone for a call or chat. We are dependant upon emails and thats not an instant response form of communication.
During the initial part of our getting to know each other, our main form of communication was via emails. It is a good way to express your thoughts without interruption. I believe JAR and I learnt so much about ourselves as well as each other via emails. However, as our friendship progressed (via various upturns as well as downturns) we began to see the other as people and not just email buddies. We communicated on a more direct basis. Talking results in instant responses and you get to sense the other person's unspoken thoughts via the tone of his voice. You get immediate signs of happiness, sadness, nervousness, anger, pain, excitement from voice tones. The phone is a thousand times better than the emails in delivering emotions.
Of course I worry about JAR being away. He does get a tad nervous everytime he has to travel so far. The last visit he paid me, I got an email showering me with appreciation just before he took the flight out to see me.
I hope JAR gets to enjoy his trip. There is nothing that educates as much as travelling to foreign lands. It wont be his first visit to Germany and the other countries but there will be many 'first' experiences even on this visit.
Our next vacation together is more than 10 weeks away. I am busy with my still not interior-decorated condo right now; but a part of me continues to want to already prepare for that vacation. Being with JAR always is a highlight of my vacation.

Kitchen cabinets and curtains

The kitchen cabinet is almost done! Yippeeeeee. Its looking quite good. Black top with almost white cabinets. The kitchen looks brighter now. Unfortunately, the kitchen is situated at the back corner of the condo. Behind it is the third bathroom and the utility room. The kitchen lused to look a little dark but I have placed strong lights to ensure that problem is overcomed. The kitchen cabinets also has its down lights. I think there is no 'darkness' problems now.
The built in oven has been placed. It looks comfortably positioned. I need to put up pictures.
The grilles for all the openings are also in place. I am quite satisfied with it. Makes you feel a little more secured. The fact that the condo has its own 24 hour security guards and you need access cards to even enter also makes one feel very safe. But I am taking no chances. My brother-in-law's sister lived in a twentieth floor of a condo and that got broken into.
I shall have alot of people visiting so that my condo will be seemingly full of people too.
I met the 'curtain designers'. I thought you just need to be able to sew a straight line to make curtains....but apparently you need to pay them about $100 per curtain piece for labor. Two curtains per window....o my ....you need to be rich in order to put up pieces of cloth at your window!!!

more on condo work

The bedroom cabinets are done. Looks ok. The contracters are working halfway thru the kitchen cabinets. The new built-in oven has arrived but it hasnt been fixed yet. People are walking into the condo to look at my half completed fixtures. I dont mind them looking but WHY do they need to touch or open them??? I will put up signs to say...look but do not touch!
I bought the lights for the whole condo which my contractor has kindly put up FOC. The condo is getting prettier by the minute.
Went shopping for the lights with mum, then with eldest sister. I am tired of going into shops that sell lights. Their prices really do vary. You need to walk around alot.
I got a day off on Wednesday due to pain on my back. Doctor says I might have strained some muscles. Got a jab, got pain killers. The pain is mostly gone today.
JAR will be off to Europe again for work end of September. Its second trip to Europe thisyear. Envy him! However he will be missing a family trip with his siblings to Colorado end of this week.
