swine flu

Swine!
Swine Flu!
Go away, go away as soon as possible.

I am afraid to read the news.
My vacation is not too far down the road.
Then Mexico gets hits with the Swine Flu.
And they make it sound like its also dangerous to travel to USA and Canada
The very places I am headed for.
Damn!
Damn! Damn!

I need to have more faith.
In the goodness of the strong antibodies.
In the strength of my physical being.
In the success of good over evil.

Enough of the fears.
I got to get my stuff together.
Most of the things I will need are sitting happily in my 'bags section' of my bedroom.
I am two thirds packed.
Still untidily packed. Just lots of stuff thrown into the bags.
I still need to look for gifts.

I have actually bought me a new Kipling handbag.
Its light. Its durable. The zipper is warranteed (I am hopeless with zippers!)
Most of my handbags get thrown away because the zippers are wrecked.
I will have my usual big bag and little bag.
The big bag goes to luggage and I carry along the little bag.
Easy. All managed by one person.
I am wondering if I need to bring a mini computer (that for now is still in the shops!)
Or do I just get me an IPhone (also for now still in the shops)
Hmmnn...Still a long way to go before I am ready for my trip!

more than one week later

I havent blogged in over a week!

If only I had been busy doing what the tigers in the pic is doing!
Ahhhh.....fat hopes!
I am in the midst of the peak period at work.
I have the luxury of a two day break before the next onslaught arrives.
I went to the doctor's clinic on Saturday to get my allergy pills.
Dr. N was not in. he was at his new clinic at the next town.
I had to see a new lady doctor who is prolly a locum.
She made me depressed.
She almost insisted that I had hypertension.
I told her that I have bought my own blood pressure reading machine and that when I do my daily checks I had reasonable readings.
She doesnt want to listen.
I HATE doctors like this!
JAR on the other hand had quite an exciting Saturday at the other end of the world.
His hiking group of 8 guys and one girl had quite a time.
The girl actually fell down a slope and hurt herself.
Her head was bleeding and they used someone's bandana to tie it
They even had a helicopter coming to the rescue.
JAR and his brother finally took her to the hospital where her boy friend later joined them.
She got 24 or so stitches on her head.
I told JAR to never hike alone.
I am worried abot the pig swine fever.
I dont want that to spoil my coming vacation.

Chasing Liberty

Last night I saw a movie on TV.

Couldnt sleep even tho it was late.

The movie was entitled 'Chasing liberty', starring Mandy Moore

It was a movie about a USA president's daughter who wanted a little bit of freedom.

She thru some trail of incidences hooked up with a British guy who finally turned out to be an agent.

The movie takes us to Venice, Berlin, London besides the cities in the USA.

It was a sweet love story.

I enjoyed that.

It was worth losing a couple of hours of sleep

Its been a while that I got mushy mushy.

mating

Once Mom and I were driving home after we (plus baby niece D and maid) picked up four year old niece A from play school. We decided to stop by the hills where there were lots of monkeys and just watch people (from the forest reserve dept) feed them. It was fun!

The we drove further and I decided to stop as we saw another troop of monkeys. The little girls were enjoying themselves from behind the safety of the glass windows. Suddenly two little monkeys decided to do what came naturally to them. Mate! I decided to quickly drive off in order to give them some privacy, hoping that the little girls did not notice it.

As soon as their mom came home that day, the little nieces told her about their day....with the older one almost acting out the motions of the two monkeys. "....we saw them do this....)

Ouch! How to let the little ones' minds remain innnocent for as long as possible?

updates

I continue to blog no matter if no one else reads it.
I have stopped the gadget that reads the number of time one's blog get a hit.
I write for me.
To relieve some stress.
To put on record the happenings in my life.
To list out my hopes.

I do wonder sometimes whats happened to those who used to visit.
They prolly found other blogs.
It was nice having them around even for a bit.

My mom is doing alot better.
The doctors say that she is 85% recovered.
Mom is not yet satisfied.
She continues to go for physiotheraphy.

Brother and family back from their weekend resort holiday.
It was quite an adventure sending them to the airport so early in the morning.
Sister is also back from her meeting out of state.
Only JAR is away for a few more days.
We stay in touch via the phone and text messages.
Sometimes we email.
He is in New Orleans for a business meeting.
He is having fun, going for day tours.

I am supposed to have a week's respite before the next peak period.
I may have to attend a course tho.
We'll see.
I still have a major report to do.

to the max

Today will be a filled-to-the-maximum day.
Got up early.....get ready for work
Bought breakfast, stopped at the bank for some $$$
Off to work.
Made appointments during lunch time in order to be able to leave earlier than usual.

I am scheduled to pick the whole family and drive them to my condo tonite.
Bro and family leaving in the wee hours of the morning for the airport.
Guess who volunterred to drive them?
Yup, yours truly.
Mom will stay with me for the weekend.
Bro's family off to a resort island.
They need some relaxation.

I've given SIL a checklist for things to bring for the nieces.
Want the girls to have fun and be safe.

I havent thought of what to feed them for dinner.
We'll prolly just eat out.

OK....gotta go now.
Next appointment is on!
