Weekend with the boys Part 1

Today I took a half day off from work.
I drove my sister's younger two boys to visit their eldest brother at his university. He still has a presentation to do before he is done for the semester.
Took them all for lunch (including nephew's girlfriend). My brother's shop was around the corner so he joined us for that very late lunch.
We had a great time, eating and chatting. I told them about some of my siblings' adventures when we were kids. They all seemed to enjoy that. :)
Then we all went to nephew's room at the university. At that point my sister sent me text message telling us what was happening at her part of the world.
I called my sister and the boys all got to talk to their mom.
That was nice.
I had a good day with the boys. Tomorrow I am taking the younger two to visit my mom and we'll prolly spend the night there.

Note to Terry:
Thanks for your reply.
Yup, the airlines are fully booked cos its almost December and its the school holidays next week. This happens every year and its known to be the peak period for the airlines.
I normally book my tickets months ahead for peak period travels.
I prefer to travel via my national airline so that we don't have to change aircraft and JAR does that too. This helps to minimise possibility of losing/misplacement of ur luggage.
Wish I could see JAR before my surgery but doesn't look like thats gonna happen.

well june...at least you know, even though you might not see jar before your surgery, he will be thinking and praying for you constantly!

it sounds like you had so much fun with your family and you know, junie, old stories of childhood days always amuse the little ones and closes any generation gaps if they are there. kind of makes the kids know that their aunt and uncles and their mother were kids once too!
it sounds like you treated them to a yummy lunch too auntie!
and just to think that your brother was included in this happy crowd!
and the icing on the cake was that your sister called to talk to her children...so nice.
i hope that they have a great time at grammas'...love terry

Hi Terry,
Today was a great day at their grandma's!. My sister's boys and my brother's girls got to spend time together.
In the morning we went to Kinokuniya a really big book store. There, the teen-aged nephews and the pre-school aged nieces were able to go choose their own aged books.
I got me the book Falling Leaves by Adeline Yen Mah. I have read Chinese Cinderella by the same author and found that one very interesting. Hope this is just as good.
I only have time to read during my vacation times so I am getting prepared with the book purchase. Maybe this time I get to read it in the hospital?
Mom, brother's family, sister's boys and I had dinner at one of our favourite restaurants. Then we did a little night shopping.
Good fun day. Hope this continues tomorrow. We are spending the night at mom's.

dear june.. well it is almost ten in the morning where you are so i guess that you are all up from sp
spending the night at moms.
did she make you a real nice breakfast?
i am glad that you are having such a great time.
will you still be getting some more time off work.
how do they work it where you are?
in canada, every worker is entitled to a two week vacation time and usually they can take it off whenever they want..they can take a day here or there or they can take a week and some other time of the year take another week or they can just take two weeks at once..
seems pretty fair, eh?
well have a great rest of the day sunday in malaysia junie...i am thinking of you...love terry

Hi Terry,
Yesterday I had typed a long reply to ur note here. However the internet was playing a terrible game with me and it was not published on the post.
We have a similar vacation time over here as the one u mentioned but the number of days allowed varies. I am one of the lucky ones who actually am entitled to double of what the average Canadian is entitled to. :)
I normally make my overseas travel during the middle of the year and at the end of the year.
Due to the circumstances, I will not be travelling this year end.
Not a bad deal since I am planning lots of fun times with those around me here.
I have my nieces' pre school concert to go to this Wednesday. We are all excited about it. I am trying to get my teenaged nephews (sister's boys) to come along. Not really stuff that they go to (a rock concert or gig would be more like the stuff that might interest them)but the little girls (brother's girls) would love their cousins to come see.
All is well over here for now.
How are u and Bernie doing?
Tell me more about Terry's Life
June cos I luv reading about them!

hi june...i have done that so many times, written a long comment and then lost it..grr....
what i try to do now is just write the comment on outlook express and save it on a draft. that way, i get to spell check it and not lose it!
and then i just copy it and paste on to the comments.
wow!,,you sure have a great vacation plan in maylaysia
over here when a person works where there is a union, they are a lot more weeks. bernie, i believe gets six weeks and a week a christmas.
the other canadians get two weeks.
there are about ten days "statuary" holiday that they have off with pay on the day that the holiday happens..ie..christmas, new years, thanksgiving etc..
when you make your ordinary overseas visits, is it for four weeks?
it is sad that you can't come this year.
i hope to hear how that concert goes this wednesday and all about the fun times you have planned for your nieces and nephews.
and i hope those nephews will go!
to tell you the truth i love to go to concerts too. in fact we used to[betty, bernie, betty's kids and me] to go to at least four a year..they are few and far between now and i really miss them but happily i can get them on youtube..southern gospel quartet..
all is well here. benrie is just fine and he is counting down the days that he will be retired.
i have always been a little leery of doing that because you never know what the day will bring forth, but i will be glad too when he is free.
tell you about me?
ha!..you wouldn't want to know!!
take care now and don't forget..i really want to hear how that concert goes!!..love terry
