...and the year moves on...

Its almost the end of the third week in January! Time sure flies.
Ever since November I have had so many hospital appointments to keep that I have lost count.
The worst thing about going there is getting a parking space.
There are just too many people owning too many cars and needing to go to the hospital all at the same time is my guess!

This week I had my first physiotheraphy appointment.
I have now been taught some movements to help reduce the pains in my left leg.
This weekend I shall shop for some hot packs cos that was also used by the physiotherapist.

To keep my spirits up I have actually made some bookings for my May/June vacation.
I have set myself a couple of months to become physically strong enough for the journey.
I can and I will!

JAR has flown across his country for work again.
Its good for him to travel every few months and its almost like getting a mini vacation break.
If the place is great, we just might make it a point to visit there on my vacation trip.

My little niece had an accident falling off the sofa whilst playing at being Lions (ala Simba the lion King movie) with her sister.
It was bad enough to need a hospital visit and her getting stitches on her chin.
She is off from kindergarten for the rest of the week.

I pray that all will be well.
No more accidents and everyone be kept safe wherever they are.
Now its back to work for me.

dear june..i am really waiting to see how those exercises are working for your legs. i hope that you will be pain free when you are able to go on your trip. you deserve it so much after all that you have gone through the last year.
the little niece that fell junie...is she the one that is the dancer? i hope that she is better. too bad about the stitches..
my legs have been bothering me too, so i know what you are going through. maybe i will have to do a little therapy too, eh?
i have to go and see my specialist on monday. it is in hamilton which is only about 35 miles from welland.
and you are right about so little parking..we have the same problem here..and the last time when i did find a parking space it cost 25 dollars and we only used it for an hour.
ha! i should not complain though because at least the doctors and the blood tests are all free.
what is the health system like where you are june?
you sent those pretty pictures to both of my emails. i am rarely at the old computer but last week when i was there, i saw the china new years pictures you sent.
i can't wait..i am looking forward to making that post!
february 14th is valentines day too june but i think that the chinese new year is way more important!.
i can't wait to make that post especially for my friend!
feb 14 is on a sunday.
well, it is pretty late here so i had better go to bed june.
i think of you lots and pray for your pain.
you have such a good attitude!.."I have set myself a couple of months to become physically strong enough for the journey. i can and i will."

Hi Terry,
There's some slight improvements in my leg after exercising with the straps. I also use a hot water botol wrapped in a towel to help ease the pain. These are what I picked up from the physio sessions.
I also learnt from my friends who also have similar pains that physiotheraphy is the biggest help towards getting better. Yes, maybe u should try going for theraphy too.

Over here there's both public and private hospitals. U pay more for the latter and u are faced with a larger crowd at the former.
I go to a public teaching hospital where my sister works but that place also has a private wing (this is similar to the private hospital where they charge u albeit not as exhorbitantly.) I believe a teaching hospital tends to be more up-to-date in their research and knowledge.
Private hospitals over here is also becoming too crowded and u still have to wait to be attended to.
Medical expenses is expensive and u need to be covered by insurance.
I was glad of the medical insurance I own when I had my recent surgery.

Both my nieces love to dance. Its the 5 year old who cut her chin and had to have the stitches. U'd expect her to no longer be jumping and climbing about but NO! she still does the same. A tiny scar deters her not!

I pray that all goes well during your visit to your specialist in Hamilton (including getting a parking space!).
Do update me on what happens.

Chat with u more later!

dear june...six in the morning here and i was so glad to hear your nice voice.!
dad golden phoned to wake us up just now and we will leave in about an hour.
the hospital i am going to is a teaching hospital too. in my case myotonic dystrophy, they are studying five of mom golden's kids who have it and several of her grand children...i guess it is a disease that they have just recently put a name to and now they are seeing what they can do about it.
i phoned the hospital yesterday and was told the parking is $6.50 an hour. that is not too bad.
i will definitely ask the doc about therapy. i am not in so much extreme pain as you are junie..more so just weak.
i am glad that you read my post about david.
yesterday i made the mistake of reading it to mom and dad golden and gracie and her grandson..not a good idea because i started bawling and so did mom golden and jordan kept saying, "what's wrong aunt terry?"
he is a cute kid.
june, i put some pictures of our day at dad golden's over at the sisterhood of the traveling scarf. if you have time, go and look at it. i put the apron on dad golden and he gave me no trouble.
those two little nieces of yours are not sissies and it is good that they come landing back right on their feet, after a fall!

god bless you my dear friend and i will keep you updated as you to will update me on how your legs are feeling. blessings to your mom too....love terry

Dear Terry,
I hope ur visit to the specialist went well.

I was looking at the internet for 'myotonic dystrophy'.I hope ur family is not too weighed down by it. Every challenge that God gives us (including those that concerns our health) are those challenges that He knows we are able to overcome. So hang in there tight!

JAR has returned back to his home from his work trip across the US. He enjoyed this trip cos it allowed him to go to Disney world. Lucky guy!

So how has Bernie been keeping himself busy since retirement?
I read that u two move around in that cute red car of yours. Isn't that so sweet! You are so blessed to have someone who loves u to be with u. Lucky u too!

Will update my blog soon.
