letting off some work steam

This has been a trying week at work.
I should be feeling relieved as we are now at an off-peak week (only one week of this before the next major load of work begins).
I am not the only one feeling this way.
Two of my closest friends got so upset that they even took a day off from work immediately after what I am about to relate.

At work, we the professionals, are not required to punch in at fixed times (like 8 am to 5pm).
We have to clock in and out and to make up a certain minimum number of hours per week.
The administrative staff, however are required to have the fixed working hours.
Recently, however, many of us had to punch in and out in shorter times, taking our work home to complete.
This was because the office has continuos renovations going on.
There are drilling sounds, knocking sounds and what have you sounds too.
We need to work in peace cos its mainly a thinking job.
Added to that my computer printer was knocked out and was sent for repairs over a few weeks.
During those days I would have to go home early and do my print outs from my home computer.

Of course a month later, when they assess our clock cards, many of us good hardworking ones were called up cos we did not complete the required minimum hours.
The saddest thing is most of those summoned are really the cream of the crop; the good ones.
There are a few people at work who come in the mornings and clock in , then spend the day doing their personal stuff, often leaving the work place and returning late in the evenings to just clock out.
Those of us who do an honest job will clock out just because we are leaving the office.....even tho we take home our work.
We got penalised.

My friend says now we should also play the game.
Do as they require.
Give them the clock card that 'says' we are physically there.
Its not the quality of work they want.

I am going to just let this frustration and anger pass first.
I do not make decisions that I will regret later.
Let the anger die off first.
