money, money, money

Some exciting stuff concerning finance is happening in the family. One major inherited property has found a buyer. For the past three decades that property has earned its owners a good sum but it is time to let it go. The problem with inherited property is that when it goes down the family line, it normally has increased number of owners. That makes it less profitable. We have to let it go, get the money and reinvest it on individual basis. Some of us will make new money, some of us might lose it all. Finding a buyer has not been easy. The property has some ethnic resistrictions to its holding. Not many people belonging to the ethnic group can afford the price its worth. Anyways, mom will be quite a wealthy woman if the deal goes through. I am glad that she gets to taste the money during her lifetime.
Another good news is big niece has had her pre uni results. She got a 4.oo flat score. That means an average of all A's. Great job gal! Must think of a way to celebrate this with her.
Next week Best Buddy arrives. He has had two surgeries this year; one to treat his eyes (to eliminate the need for glasses) and one on his thumb (due to part of a splinter that got lodged in a while ago.) He gets very excited for his vacations.....I need to slow him down and get him to pace out his itinerary. I am now quite used to slower paced vacations especially after vacationing with my mom and aunt these last few years. When you vaction with the elderly, you move slower but you get to appreciate more stuff too.
