back in cyber for a bit

When one does not blog as often, it could be that work has taken over our lives, or that we are going through a happy period and IRL is keeping us too occupied (when u are on the down side, u WILL somehow be able to find time to enter the cyber world and talk to strangers or to cyber-space.). Well, I fall in the 'all of the above categories'.
I am very busy at work and about to be embark on some new projects. I look forwards to the challenges ahead. I'll be working alot with a particular collegue. I have known her for many years. She left the country for a few years with her family and is now back for good. At this point she is also a good friend and I hope our partnership in the projects will spell success for all parties involved.
2006 has so far been very kind, sweet and delightful to my personal life. Each week I feel that much more confident of trusting. Distance can be overcomed by keeping in touch. This year I have discovered that when u speak a couple of times a week on the phone, u communicate in a stronger manner than by just via email or MIRC. There IS a difference.Hearing the voice tells u how the other party is feeling, if the other party is happy to hear your voice. It gives u the indirect touch of the other person.

quiet happiness

Ever had a day when u felt more happy than usual? Well, today thats how I feel. the best part is it came after yesterday when I was feeling kinda low. I have to remember what I did and what happened to uplift me.
I was feeling low and a little depressed. I thought that I was being forgotten due to someone else's life being busy or taken up with something or someone.
I asked God to help me appreciate the good that I have in my life. I did not want to be a person whose imagination ran overtime. That would just incite feelings of distrust and anger.. I recalled a previous situation when I got upset unfairly. In my mind, I requested trust and help. I did not just give excuses; I prayed for help.
Today I received a phone call and that was very uplifting. The best part of it was a commitment for a future vacation. This is more than I had imagined possible at this stage.
Its good to have hope.

Non Gambling Family and Las Vegas

Work is going at a nice manageable rate. Lots to do but I get it done. I can do better and I will.

My mom, my brother and his family and I went to a casino resort this week. We all had a day off from work and wanted to go away from the city. It was a day trip. Weather however turned bad on our way there. We could hardly see the road. Then we spent three quarters of an hour looking for a parking spot. Everyone wanted to park at the covered car park cos the rain and the fog made the uncovered ones unhabitable.
Finally we got our parking space and everyone headed for the restrooms! We had a good lunch (how did I end up paying for that???). Then we went around the shopping areas as well as the kid's entertainment centers. Yup, we are not gamblers so we just go to enjoy the fringe benefits of cheap entertainment that the gambling establishments set up for the families while dads and moms squander away the family's fortunes.
I couldnt help but compare what we had locally with what is available in Las Vegas. Vegas is not just a sin city in my opinion. You make it one if u go there to gamble and do whatever else. I have been there a couple of times with my buddy. We get cheap delicious food, affordable luxurious hotels and some fun with kid's entertainment.

Back to The Usual and a note to Juicy Fruiter

Vacation time is over. Am back at work. I had a really good holiday. Flew halfway across the world. Spent time with someone important in my life. Getting more input on his life style. Feeling comfortable with the life's set-up even when we are not on holiday. Repaired some broken feelings and hurt that happened awhile back. Found that its still a worthwhile relationship. We are both not perfect people but we might still be the best for each other.
I am happy with what we have.

ps. Juicy Fruiter, you are most welcomed! I have visited your blog and I enjoyed it! I have had it bookmarked. I think its great that I have a ranger reading my blog. I meet several rangers on my visits to the National and State Parks every vacation. Maybe u r one of them?

Happy New Year everyone! May 2006 bring out the best in each of us!
