things to do

Its been two weeks since I got home.
Have been terribly busy at work but I still had time to feel sad in the process (Why? Why?).

Just need to refocus myself.

People are happiest when they have something to focus their minds at; when they have something for them to do.
I remember those past times when I was younger. My dad would give us all chores to do over the weekend. Especially on Saturdays. Those days people used to work half day on Saturday. Dad would set us chores to do and would check on it when he got back home from work.
I used to detest that.
Polish the floor. Clean up the garden. Etc.

Now looking back I can see him making us focus on something to do that will bring results. To give a sense of satisfaction. To keep us from misusing our free time.

When u get older, no one tells u what to do.
Thats both good and bad.
U have a sense of freedom.
But too much freedom can be boring.

Get a hobby.
Right now my hobby is the internet.
Not healthy.

Planning a swimming party with the kids this weekend.
Maybe that will help.
Some exercise and family gathering.
Its like a potion.

I will not be sad.

Moving along

Things are moving smoothly mostly but there have also been some minor bumps since I got home from the vacation.
I have got the condo almost sparkling clean (to my eyes, that is).
The fridge is stocked for the week. I am cooking some too!
The car is waxed (done at the shop, not by me personally).
My winter clothes are dry cleaned and stored.
My netbook which was attcked by some virus during the trip is now being 'treated'.
I have started work and am keeping a good pace at it.
Overall, I am doing good.

I miss JAR my bestest buddy.
I miss my stress free vacation times.
I miss eating American food.
I miss the ice cream, especially the one at Ghiradelli's.

The next vacation is no where within eye sight.
No plans made for it yet.
We just said that the maximum wait will be a year for the next one.
But we agreed that a year is too long to wait.
Heck! Even 6 months seems unbearable right now.

woman's woes over 'temporary fat'

A woman's body changes with the movement of the moon.
Hmmmnnn....maybe that's what the Red Indians might say.
The truth is its got something to do with your monthly cycle.
Personally, my body is at its best the week after my period and its the worst from three days prior to that.
I get bloated around the tummy area.
Sometimes it affects my jeans size.
Its like one actually need a pants of bigger size to be comfortable in during the three days or so.

Heyyyyy. I am on vacation in LA.
I am thousands of miles from my daily wardrobe.
I only have my5 pairs of pants with me.
They are all about the same size.
The extra lump on my tummy just needs to shrink!
Helppppppp. I feel fat today.
O yeah.....remembering the ice creams and chocolates consumed over the past fortnight does NOT help either.
OK.
Its not REAL fat. Its my PMS fat.
It'll go away. Soon. Fast.
Hopefully!

US June 2009

I am at the tail end of my trip!
I would have updated more often had I not started being on facebook. I updated there mostly about this trip.
Anyways, since I am here and I have time, let me recall what has happened so far.

It was one of the worst flights I have taken. The air turbulence. The flying of our lunch plates. The hanging-on-to-your-chair-as-tho-that-would-help episodes.
Yet, I arrived safely.

JAR was there at the airport, as is usual. I am lucky to have such a great friend.
He drove me home where I could shower and rest whilst he went back to work.
I love his new house. Its comfortable. Its like home.

Two days later, with BHR, JAR and I drove towards San Francisco.
We met the other brother BR and some members of his family there.
We went to the California Science Museum, took several walks, Ghiradelli's where I got my chocolate fix, and enjoyed SF for two nights.

BR, BHR, JAR and I then started our journey northwards.
Lassen Volcanic Park, Burney's Waterfalls, Portland;Oregon, Seattle; Washington.
JAR did all the driving and he was coming down with a flu whilst doing so.
He got us all around safely.

The places we visited were mostly either green or white with snow.
They were all beautiful.
I had never seen so many waterfalls within such a short time.
We made pit stops to use the restroom and always came out with ice cream, tit bits or nuts.
Such an enjoyable time in my life.
I have forgotten all the stress in my life.
Its like being halfway to heaven.

We got home in LA over a week after we started.
Its good to be back to this house.
I rested well, even with all the week's washings to be done.

Even tho I am away from my family, I felt I was still with family.
Somehow I feel that I fit in now.
:)
Happy.
