US trip continues

Tonight we will begin our trip northwards.
We are heading towards San Francisco. It will be my third trip there.
JAR and I will be picking up BHR. The RR and his wife will be driving there earlier.
The big group will be congregating at L and T's place in SF.
Then part of the group will be going on northwards to Seattle and then to Canada!
I am excited about this trip.
I just hope it does not get too cold for me.

JAR cooked me the Salmon dinner he promised me on my facebook last night.
He included some pineapples in the salad and that gave it an oooomph!
I am enjoying being here at his new place so much more.
Hoping for alot more free internet along the way for this trip...hehehe ....so i can update regularly!

LA

Here I am in LA!
It was a terrible flight getting here.
Bumpy due to the weather conditions.
My food plate actually flew and fell on the floor.
I held on to my seat and actually prayed.
It was worth it though.

JAR looks the same if not better.
I am more relaxed with him.
A few days ago I just decided to 'let go' and be free.
I am free in my mind.

I love JAR's new house and what he has done with it.
He bought a foreclosed run down house and got the contractors to do it up.
He then took the furniture and stuff he has had in storage for years.
He bought some more appliances and and stuff and lo behold, his house is almost complete.
It feels alot more homey than the house his brother owns that I used to visit.
I especially love the washlet..... a device that cleans u automatically when at the toilet.
THATs one 'eastern thing' that I believe I introduced JAR to.....water cleansing.

We are still comfortable together even after all these years.
If only everyone else can accept what is with us.
More later.

a little pain

Its almost here.
Tomorrow.
Vacation begins.
I am not yet prepared mentally or physically.
My shoulder muscles hurt. My back is in pain.
I actually need to rest rather than take a 20 hour flight
Mentally I am feeling a sadness that always appears when I am about to go away.
People normally just get excited about a holiday.
I get a sense of loss about going away.
I should not.
I dont even have too many people who will miss me being away.
I must look forwards, not backwards.

Today

First I had the final meeting before my break.
That went faster than anticipated. Good!
I vetted some work done by my collegue. It was ok.

I went online and found JAR there.
He had put up a pic of his forehead which had met with an accident
It was a hose shoe shaped scar.
Quite scary looking.
He is OK. I am just about to get over it.

Hang in there.....

more relaxing time

Been carring the new netbook around.
Looking for WiFi.
Free internet.
Now I understand why people hang out at Starbucks.
Sadly the WiFi connection at work is too weak.
They need to improve it.

Most of work stuff is done.
Now I just need the influenza A H1N1 swine flu to die down.
I have taken some vaccination jabs.
Precaution.

Major portion of packing done.
The netbook will come along.
Hope I can get WiFi connection easily where I am travelling.
I need to start packing the final bag -THE hand bag soon.

THIS is the more relaxing time.
I like being here.

decision

The netbook won.
Its small and light.
I have been carrying it around over the weekend.
Did not cost the earth.
Its functional.
I am happy with decision.

So we now know that Adam Lambert and Kris Allen are the finalists for the American Idol 2009. Danny Goke got eliminated. No probs with that. They all can sing. The judges liked Adam right from the start. So do I.

Mini notebook. Mini netbook. Tiny laptop.

Been looking at them on the net.

They look so cute.

Maybe even functional to bring along on my vacation.

Do I want one? Do I need one?

Also been looking at iPhones.

Same questions.

Do I want one? Do I need one?
Heck! I need a life!!!

a little steam and some simple choices

There apparently is no human vaccination against the H1N1, Influenza A, Swine Flu as is.
Yet, they are asking potential travellers to get the seasonal flu vaccination.
Whats the point?
Can it even protect us?
They say, delay ur travels.
Delay till when?
My vaccation dates are so rigid.
I have to fix everything months before hand.
I didnt realise that i needed to fix the times for the flu to spread.

Yup, I am blowing off steam.

I did get a good painful, excruciating Thai body massage over the weekend.
It hurts like hell.
The traditional local massage is more soothing, prolly less painful.
But I did not know where to go to get one.
The old ladies that my mom used to go to are now all dead.
The younger ones are never as good.
So I had to go international.
Man, it hurts. My back and my arms.

I want to get me either an iPhone or a pocket computer soon.
Which is cheaper in the long run?
I think a pocket computer might be the answer.
I dont worry about the cost of purchasing the asset, I am more concerned about the cost of running.

now

Work is almost done. (Not counting the new stuff I have to prepare for after the vacation!)
Vacation is still a couple of weeks away.
The swine flu still getting alot of publicity at where I am.
Its wierd that there is an even more dangerous disease in the form of meningitis somewhere 200 km south of where I am right now but the news focus is not on that.

Saw Oprah show last night. Probably a rerun.
About people entering middle age.
About being happy right where u are.
About appreciating your age
About the wonderful difference on being 50 instead of twenty.
Its important to make old age something that we do not dread but welcome.
I like the traditional Red Indian way where they have the acknowledged elders.
The wise old men who run the community.
The young ones are the warriors but the older ones are the thinkers.
Its not that way in my country.
The young ones want to be politically strong in order to get financially rich.
The older wiser ones are pushed aside unlesss they are politically strong or financially rich.
Sad state.

Facebook Newbie

I am towards the end of the peak period.
I am not quite done yet as right now someone has not completed her task which unables me to conclude the project.
Some people work slower than others. Just as long as they work as well as others.
This gives me a little breather so i am able to blog.
I was also able to actually open a Facebook page in the process.
Now I understand why kids go wild over Facebook.(FB)
Its so interactive.

I also found that so many people I know are there on FB.
Its like a huge village on the internet.
Fun and addictive (at least for right now)
